Questions you can adapt for your research.
Once Crito is connected, ask your assistant a question in plain language. Include the province, court, date range, or case name when it matters.
Research an issue
Use Crito to find Ontario cases about duties owed by care homes to elderly residents. Explain how the facts affected each decision and link to the relevant passages.
Describe the issue and the facts you want to compare. You do not need to know the case name.
Find a known case
Use Crito to find R v Jordan, 2016 SCC 27. Summarize paragraphs 46 to 56 and link to the decision.
Give the case name or citation if you have it. A neutral citation, such as 2016 SCC 27, identifies a decision by year, court, and number.
Find related decisions
Use Crito to find decisions that cite 2016 SCC 27. Show the passages that discuss it and explain what each decision says.
A list of citing cases does not, by itself, tell you whether they agree with the earlier decision. Read the passages in context.
Read legislation
Use Crito to find section 265 of the federal Criminal Code. Show the text and link to the official source.
Give the title, jurisdiction, and section if you know them. Crito covers federal, Ontario, and British Columbia legislation.
Refine an answer
Ask a follow-up question when you need more detail:
- “Which facts distinguish these two cases?”
- “Show the paragraphs that support that statement.”
- “Read the next part of the decision.”
- “Which sources could you not retrieve?”
